If a smile could speak a thousand words Bob Wilson
could speak volumes. Known by many and loved by everyone. A loving
Brother to Geraldine Melton, William Wilson ( Patricia), Patricia
Brechel, Gerald Swederski ( Carol), Susan Garfield, Ron Swederski (Liena),
Len Swederski ( Patty), and Sharon Caulfield ( Jim). Loving Uncle to
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife
Diane of fifty-three years. The
world has lost a most loving. kind and generous man. He passed away
April 16th after a sudden illness and the loss of his wife this
November. Bob's journey started in Chicago where he attended Chicago
schools and met his wife. He then joined the United States Army and was
stationed in New Orleans. He talked fondly of those early days with
Diane. He returned back to Chicago and started a venture with his
brother Bill in opening and operating Clark gas stations. He purchased a
home in the suburbs in Fox River Valley Gardens. Wonderful memories were
made he made many many friends and loved ones in these years living
close by siblings. A career change followed with him joining Local 10
Chicago District of Carpenters Union, again this change was made with
his loving brother Bill. He began working the trade shows of Chicago and
later became Union Steward which he maintained into his retirement. It
was in his marriage that Bob became a loving pet owner to many dogs cats
and birds. He was a constant contributor to Save A Pet in Palatine,
Illinois. His passion was his wife Diane and family, yard work, home
remodeling, his pets, and living by the water. In retirement he moved to
Cherokee Village, Arkansas to live close by his brother Bill. Ron and
Pat came next and the siblings were together again. Family ties were
very important to Bob. He was famous for saying family first in all
areas of his life. In more recent years he took loving care of his wife
after a lengthy illness which he did with complete love and devotion. He
will be sadly missed by all and remembered for his laughter and love.
A Memorial Service for Bob will be held at the Cherokee Village
Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00PM with Pastor
Joan Ewaldsen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Cherokee
Village Lutheran Church Columbarium.
