John Hawkins

Mr. John Hawkins, age 84, of Mountain Home, died Saturday, at Shady Grove Health Care in Thayer, MO.
He was the son of the late Benjamin Hawkins and the late Myrtle (Clark) Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife Lorene Hawkins of the home; Daughter-in-law-Dianna Hawkins of Caulfield, MO; Son Gary Hawkins of Edwardsville, IL; Brothers, Eugene Hawkins of Thayer, MO and Mack Hawkins of Hartford City, IN;  Four grandchildren and One great-grandchild.      
John was preceded in death by a son Stephen Hawkins and his parents.


Funeral services will be at Heath Oak Hill Chapel at 10:00 AM Wednesday with Bro. John Shadowens and Bro. Keith Sharp officiating. Interment will follow in Baker Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

John B. was a fine Christian gentlemen who we were all blessed to have touch our lives in some form or fashion. As one of the Swetnam descendants I can proudly say he was a valued member of our family, a great example of what a man should be and I am thankful to have known him. Dianna and Family, So sorry about the loss of your Father. Your Dad was my 5th and 6th grade P.E.Teacher at Central here in West Plains. I really enjoyed him as a teacher.
